Due Diligence

Disputes between suppliers and buyers can range from miscommunication to theft or fraud. Before you start working with any third party, treat due diligence like any other business relationship.

Platform review never replaces your own checks. The steps below will not remove every risk, but they can meaningfully reduce the chance of losing goods or money to fraud.

Practical steps

Simple actions that help lower fraud and theft risk:

  1. Confirm the company is legitimately registered where it trades; request licenses or accounts when possible.
  2. Put scope and cost structure into a written agreement both parties accept, covering charges from origin through destination — useful if service expectations diverge or a legal dispute arises.
  3. Avoid instant cash remittance services when you can; prefer bank transfers or traceable corporate payments and keep receipts. Appeal-friendly channels such as PayPal can also help against fraudulent payments.
  4. Search for reviews, complaints, or possible blacklists online — prior similar issues often leave a trail.
  5. Check trade association or freight-network membership and verify credentials when useful.
  6. Confirm the trading address looks like a real business premises, not only a residential listing; street maps help spot a physical storefront.

What tjtrans can and cannot do

We can review claim materials and follow up on reports. The contract is between you and the other party — we generally cannot mediate contract details or recover funds on your behalf.

What if I suspect fraud?

If you have exhausted reasonable ways to reach the other party and suspect fraud, work through these options:

Contact us first via in-platform channels and email. We will try to reach the counterpart and help restore communication. Because the contract is between you and the supplier, we cannot step into the dispute details or decide who is right.

We also recommend contacting local law enforcement and a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction. You may engage a reputable debt-recovery agency, typically on a share of recovered funds.

  • Keep chats, quotes, payment proofs, and contracts;
  • Report the company or RFQ on tjtrans so we can review and restrict accounts if needed;
  • File a report with local authorities and seek legal advice;
  • Consider a reputable debt-recovery agency when appropriate.

Your responsibility

This list is not exhaustive. Complete your own due diligence before signing any transport or agency agreement. Rate validity, space, and operating terms follow the documents you finally confirm offline.
